Walking in every season

From the gentle shore path to the Gaisalm to the summit push up the Unnütz: walks of every length begin around Achenkirch, and the cable cars in Pertisau and Maurach lift you above 1,800 m. Achenkirch is not only for high summer and deep winter — between spring and autumn the region shows a quieter side: soft alpine meadows, golden larch woods in the Falzthurntal, luminous views from the Tunnelweg towards the Zwölferkopf. From May to October the Achensee walking programme takes you out with qualified mountain guides, free with the AchenseeCard — from the Nature Watch tour to the Moosenalm right above Achenkirch to a summit day in the Rofan or Karwendel. If you would rather set your own pace, there are goals such as the Dalfaz Alm or the Bärenwald loop at Steinberg am Rofan.
