On two wheels around Lake Achensee

The ride up to the Köglalm starts in Achenkirch itself — easy going and done in about an hour and a half, while stronger riders carry on over the Kögljoch to the tucked-away Schmalzklause near Steinberg am Rofan. On the southern shore, in Pertisau, the trails to the Feilkopf and the Zwölferkopf open up panoramic views of the fjord-like lake, some 14 km or twenty minutes by car from Achenkirch. And for the whole family there is the lake loop, roughly 25 km along the flat shoreline — past the sailing boats at Maurach, for instance.
