Paragliding off the Christlum

If you like things simple, you take off from the Christlum — the local mountain right in Achenkirch, a mere 200 m from the apartment house. For a little more height, head across the lake to the Rofan range above Maurach, some 14 km or twenty minutes by car and served by the free regional bus, then up with the Rofan cable car. Flying tandem with an experienced pilot, the run-up works at either site without any previous experience; framed by the Karwendel and Rofan, Lake Achensee is one of the finest flying areas in Austria.
