Tracks that start at the door

No car, no drive: all three trails set off from Achenkirch. The village trail (10 km, about 2 hrs, 99 m of ascent) runs gently north across meadows and past houses, starting at the SPAR Eder supermarket. The Oberautal lake trail (7 km, about 1.5 hrs, 138 m of ascent) lays its flat track towards Lake Achensee. For a shorter, shadier and therefore especially snow-sure round, take the Unterautal loop (2 km, about 1 hr, 46 m of ascent), starting from the car park behind the Seealm restaurant. All told, more than 200 kilometres of prepared trails thread through the Achensee region — classic and skating alike.
