Climbing between rock and lake
Forest high-ropes park — in Achenkirch itselfOver 250 routes in the Karwendel & Rofan
More than 250 routes between grade 3 and 8c+ make the Karwendel and Rofan one of the most popular climbing areas in Tyrol. For families the adventure begins in Achenkirch itself: at the forest high-ropes park with its swinging bridges and wobbling nets — no climbing experience required, with separate courses for children — and on the 18-metre climbing wall by the Achenseehof. For something more exposed, take to the via ferratas: the route at the Dalfazer waterfall runs right alongside the thundering water, while the Haidachstellwand rewards you with a dizzying view down to the lake. At the Achensee via ferrata camp, qualified guides ease beginners onto the cable — and when it rains there is the bouldering hall at the Atoll in Maurach.
